    First DNV renewal approved, here is the exact dossier I submitted

    My DNV renewal for Palma just got approved, super stoked! I'm putting together a post of the exact documents I sent in, but before I hit submit, did anyone else renew theirs in Palma and care to share if their list of docs was similar to what I've got?

    Did you have to show 2024 tax returns or just the quarterly payments? I'm worried because I started late in the year.

    You only need the Modelo 130 filings if the annual tax return isn't out yet. As long as you paid your trimestres you are fine.

    Yes I showed a balance of about 32 thousand euros across my Wise and Sabadell accounts. Better to over-prove the funds than have them ask for more later.

    Did you include a Spanish bank statement to show the money actually hitting your account? I have heard some people are getting asked for that to prove the US invoices are actually being paid. I'm trying to decide if I should include my Revolut statements or just keep it simple with the invoices and the client letter.

    You don't need new criminal records for a renewal. You only need them for the initial application since you have already been living in Spain.

    That is weird for 2025. Usually if it hits three months without a word it is considered silence positive but you should double check with a gestor.

    Congrats. I am doing mine in October. Did they ask for a new criminal record check from the US or is the original one from let year enough?

    The office at Felicians is definitely better than it used to be. I went there for a lost TIE last month and was in and out in twenty minutes. Just a heads up for anyone reading this, make sure your photos are the exact size they want or they will send you to the shop around the corner and you might lose your slot.

    The photo shop around the corner charges like ten euros for four photos too. It's a total racket. Better to get them done at a machine in the supermarket beforehand for half the price.

    Five weeks is actually a decent turnaround for the UGE right now. I am coming up on my renewal in Valencia soon and everyone says it is taking closer to three months there. Did you have to provide a criminal record check from the US again for the renewal? I keep getting conflicting info on whether the initial one is enough since we have been living in Spain the whole time.

    You don't need the FBI check again if you haven't left Spain for more than 90 days. The UGE checks your Spanish record internally now. Just focus on the tax side of things because that is where they usually reject people.

    Wait so you sent a full year of invoices? That seems like overkill but I guess it worked. I only sent the last three months for my renewal and now I am wondering if I should try to upload more documents to the folder before they make a decision. Five weeks is fast so maybe the extra proof helped them skip the request for more info.

    They definitely check. A friend of mine got rejected in Valencia last month because he was out for 7 months. They are looking at entry and exit dates way more closely now.

    I had a nightmare with the vida laboral because my gestor messed up my initial registration as an autonomo. If there is even a one month gap in your payments they will flag it immediately. It's good that you mentioned the padron too. Most people forget it needs to be less than three months old when you go to the police station for the fingerprinting.

    The padron thing is so annoying. In some parts of Mallorca it takes weeks just to get the certificate from the ayuntamiento even after you are registered. Don't wait until you get the favorable notice to request the paper.

    Congrats on getting it sorted. The stress of that first renewal is real because if they say no you basically have to pack up your life within weeks. Glad to hear the Palma office is moving quickly. I had my initial application stuck for months back in 2023 so it sounds like they finally hired more staff at the UGE.

    I submitted 45 days before expiry and it has been three months of silence. Status still says En Tramite. Getting nervous.

    I'm curious about the 183 day rule you mentioned. Did they actually ask for a full scan of your passport to check stamps or did you just provide a declaration? I spent a lot of time in Portugal over the summer and I'm a bit paranoid they will count those days against my residency requirements for the permanent residency track later on.

    Did you include a bank statement showing the 30k or whatever the balance requirement is now? I heard it went up with the SMI increase.

    Palma is a nightmare for appointments. I have been refreshing the Sede Electronica for three weeks and nothing. Any tips for the Cita Previa?

    @phantomde·6mo ago

    Try checking on Thursdays at 9 am sharp. That is when the Palma office usually dumps the new slots for the following week.

    That contract addendum part is gold. My lawyer told me a simple letter was fine but having a formal date like 2027 probably makes the reviewer's job much easier. I'm DIYing my renewal in Palma next month so this gives me a bit more confidence. Did you have to translate the invoices into Spanish or did they accept the English versions?

    @marta24·6mo ago

    I spent about 5 months outside Spain last year because of family stuff. Do you think the UGE actually checks the passport stamps for the 183 day rule?

    3
    @vibe_z94·6mo ago

    The addendum from the US company is the key part. A lot of people forget that part and get a request for more documents which delays everything.
