    Reagrupacion familiar on DNV, dependents got it in 21 days

    Our family reunification for the DNV actually sailed through. My husband and I submitted the applications for our two kids on November 8th, and we just got the approval email on November 29th. Twenty-one days from start to finish here in Las Palmas. Honestly, I was bracing for months, so this was a huge relief! I know it can be a real headache for some.

    The TIE appointment is the real final boss of this process. Getting the approval is great but finding a slot at the police station in Las Palmas is nearly impossible lately. I had to use a bot to find an appointment at 2am. Keep checking the Cita Previa site constantly or ask your Gestor if they can snag the spots for you. sometimes they have better luck.

    Actually the police station at Calle Solis has been opening slots on Thursday mornings lately. Try checking right around 9:30am. Avoid the Telde office if you can, they are way more difficult about the padron requirements than the city office.

    It's refreshing to hear a positive story for once. Most people only post when things go wrong and it makes the whole DNV process look like a nightmare. The 21 days is amazing. We did ours ourselves without a gestor and it took 55 days. If I had known it could be that fast with Ruiz Abogados i probably would have paid the fee. Saving two months of stress is worth 900 euros.

    what was the specific advice that burned you for three weeks? i am guessing it was something about the criminal record check translation or the apostille dates. i keep seeing conflicting info on whether they need a fresh one if the first one is only 4 months old.

    for me it was the apostille. they wanted it translated as well which my first lawyer said wasnt needed. wasted two weeks getting a new swore translation.

    we are in las palmas too and our lawyer is dragging their feet. did you do the digital certificate submission yourself or go through an agency? twenty one days makes me think you did it perfectly on the first try this time.

    That is insanely fast for Gran Canaria. I am currently waiting on week eight for my husband's application through a different lawyer and the silence is deafening. Did your Gestor mention if they have some kind of internal track? I wonder if being in Las Palmas vs one of the smaller towns makes a difference in which office handles the file. We are down in Maspalomas and it feels like everything takes twice as long here.

    the location usually shouldn't matter for DNV because it goes through UGE in Madrid regardless of where you live in Spain. your delay might just be a backlog at the central office or a missing document they haven't asked for yet. double check your folder.

    congrats on getting it done so fast. 21 days for las palmas is actually insane. i am about to start the process for my wife and kid next month and we were expecting at least two months based on what the group was saying last summer. good to know they are speeding things up now.

    glad to see a realistic timeline for las palmas. the mainland seems to be moving slower than the islands lately. did you include the padron for the whole family in the initial pack or just for yourself? i keep hearing it is optional but recommended.

    definitely include the padron. we didnt and they issued a requerimiento that added fifteen days to the wait. save yourself the headache.

    it is wild how much the sub advice can vary depending on which month someone applied. the dnv rules feel like they change every single week. glad you survived the second pass and got the dependents sorted. enjoy the island life.

    happy for you. we just arrived in canaria and the paperwork is already giving me a headache. hearing that family can get approved in under a month makes me feel slightly better about the move. hope the move was easy otherwise.

    Glad it worked out but people should be careful with the BBVA mention. They can be a nightmare for DNV holders once you actually try to get your TIE. They blocked my account three times because they didn't understand the visa type. Just a heads up for when you go for your fingerprinting. The bank might want to see your physical cards immediately or they freeze the funds.

    I had the same issue at the branch near Mesa y Lopez. They are very strict about the TIE. You have to bring the physical card the moment you get it or they basically lock you out of your own money. The approval email isn't enough for them.

    21 days is definitely an outlier though. I had my kids approved in about forty days and I thought that was quick. It really seems to depend on who picks up the file in Madrid. Also for anyone reading this, make sure your marriage certificate is the long form version. We had a friend get rejected because they sent the short one even though it was apostilled.

    900 euros for three people is actually a very good price. Most agencies I looked at in Las Palmas were quoting 500 per person. You definitely got a deal there. Did that price include the translations of your birth certificates or did you have to pay for those separately? The sworn translation costs really added up for us since we have four kids.

    21 days is legendary. our family regroup took 50 days in barcelona and that was considered fast at the time. las palmas seems to have their act together lately. hope the tie appointments are easier to get than the residency was.

    tie appointments in las palmas are a nightmare right now. check the site at 9am on fridays or you will never find one.

    @driftio·2y ago

    congrats. we are stuck in the 3 week hole right now because of a missing marriage cert apostille. it is frustrating because the official site is so vague about the details for family members. i wish they would just list every document clearly.

    Check your health insurance policy again before the TIE appointment. The police in Las Palmas have been picky about the repatriation clause lately. It has to be very specific in the policy summary or they might send you away. It happened to a neighbor of mine last week and they had to restart the whole appointment hunt.

    How are you finding the schools in Las Palmas for the 7 and 10 year olds? We are thinking about moving there from Valencia but I am worried about the transition for my daughter. Are they in a concertado or a private school? The paperwork for the visa is one thing but the school registration is a whole other headache in my experience.

    @paella_gz·2y ago

    did you have to show a higher bank balance for the second pass? i am worried they are getting stricter on the financial requirements for dependents now that more people are applying for it this year.

    thanks for sharing the success story. can i ask if you used a digital certificate to upload it? i am trying to decide if i should pay an agency 500 euros or just brave the redsys portal myself. 21 days makes the diy route look tempting.
