Valencia coffee crawl every other Friday, the rotation
we did something similar when we first got our ties but we ended up just going to the same place every time because we got lazy. federal is a classic but it feels a bit like a chain sometimes since they have locations in other cities. you should check out blackbird in ruzafa if you haven't yet. their pastries are actually worth the hype and it's less touristy than the spots right in the center.
blackbird is great but the line is always out the door. i've waited twenty minutes just for a croissant there on a friday morning. worth it though.
lotelito is an interesting choice for a coffee crawl since it feels more like a hotel bar vibe. i usually go there for a vermouth instead. if you guys venture out toward the beach you have to try tallat. it has the best coffee in el cabanyal by far. i'd be up for joining if you head that way on the next rotation. i've been here since january too and the weather is finally getting perfect for this.
true it is small but the coffee is miles better than what you get at the tourist traps near the port. worth the squeeze.
tallat is amazing but it's tiny inside. not great for a group larger than three people honestly. maybe better for a solo mission.
ten euros for three drinks is a tight budget these days. most specialty places in valencia are charging at least three fifty for a flat white now. prices have definitely jumped since last year. are you counting the pastry in that or just the caffeine? i'd love to see the google map link if you're sharing it. it's hard to find the actual local spots sometimes.
man i love bluebell but it gets so crowded on fridays. i usually stick to the more quiet spots in ruzafa during the week because trying to find a table for four people seems impossible there. do you guys actually find seating for a group or do you just grab it to go and walk around? i might join if it stays mobile because sitting in a cramped cafe for an hour makes me anxious.
we usually just grab and go if it's too busy. it's more about the walk anyway. plus walking around ruzafa is better than just sitting inside.
this sounds way better than the generic expat mixers at the irish pubs. i'm a dnv holder too and i've been looking for something that isn't just drinking beer at 8pm. is the whatsapp group public or do i need an invite? i live near the towers so anything in el carmen or cabanyal would be easy for me to hit up.
i'm down for the next one. i just moved here in march and i've mostly been working from my apartment in benicalap. i really need to get out and see more of the city before i turn into a hermit. what time on fridays do you usually start? i have calls with my us team in the afternoon so morning is usually best for me.
